Mojave/Mystic Male
Dark and handsome, with the bold dorsal stripe and clean donut markings this combo is known for. A great pickup whether you're hoping to prove out his possible het Clown or just want a striking pet.
Nic's Novelty Herps is a small reptile venture in South Georgia. Our June 11 clutch — Mojave/Mystic × Banana Lesser Pastel het Clown — produced four handsome males, all eating well and ready for new homes.
Only the sire carries the Clown gene — het Clown, not a visual — and the dam has no Clown in her at all, so every baby from this pairing is 50% possible het Clown, not a guaranteed het. The Banana boys come from a male-maker sire, so they'll produce mostly male Bananas themselves. All four are feeding great on a two-week schedule. Tap any photo to enlarge it.

Bright, clean Banana combo color — soft peaches and cream that only get better with size. From a male-maker sire, so he's a smart hold for anyone planning Banana projects — with possible het Clown to prove out.
A Banana combo carrying his dam's BEL-complex gene — Mojave or Mystic, unresolved, just like her own "Mojave/Mystic" label. The purple and lavender coloring washing over his Banana pattern suggests Mystic influence from the dam. Photos shown are from a little earlier; fresh pictures are coming soon, and he's even better in person.
The fourth male from the June 11 clutch. He's mid-shed right now, so his photos are on the way — message us and we'll send fresh pictures the moment he's done, or reserve him ahead of the crowd.
One deliberate pairing behind this clutch — a Mojave/Mystic girl with no Clown gene in her at all, bred to a Banana Lesser Pastel het Clown male-maker. A het sire bred to a normal dam is why the babies are 50% possible het Clown. (Parent photos from when they were a little younger.)
Dark and bold-striped — the source of the clutch's donut-patterned Mojave/Mystic babies.
Het Clown — not a visual Clown — and a confirmed male-maker for the sex-linked Banana gene. Bred to a dam with no Clown gene, his babies are 50% possible het Clown.
This pairing also produced a white blue-eyed leucistic female — proof the BEL-complex genetics on both sides lined up. Like her brothers, she's 50% possible het Clown. She's staying right here as a future breeder: the plan is to pair her with a visual Clown male once we bring one in and she's up to size.
This is the plan for the next step — not a pairing that's happened yet. Our current sire is het Clown, not a visual, so we're looking to bring in a visual Clown male. Once he's here and ready, he's wanted for two breedings:
Our white BEL holdback gets the first planned pairing. A visual Clown sire means every baby would carry Clown for sure — and if the BEL proves to be het Clown herself, visual Clowns are on the table too.
The same male is also planned for the Mojave/Mystic dam. She carries no Clown gene at all, so every baby from that pairing would be 100% het Clown — solid building blocks for future visual Clown pairings.
We don't have this male yet — he's a planned pickup, not part of the current collection, and no pairing dates are set. When we find the right visual Clown boy, we'll introduce him on the Facebook page first.

All four males are established feeders, eating well on a two-week schedule. We won't send a baby home until it's feeding reliably — these four are well past that mark.
